Oak

The oak is one of many trees native to North Carolina. Oaks can grow as tall as 100 feet! In the fall, oaks show a variety of red, orange, and yellow leaves, which can be found on the ground.

Oaks can be identified from their lobed leaves, acorns, and thick bark. Species of oak in North Carolina include the white oak, pin oak, live oak, black oak, and red oak.
